NO NOT THE ANTLERS!

As everyone knows it's a Christmas tradition for mamas to get a picture of them and their baby by the Christmas tree dressed in something the child absolutely hates. It's basically a rule, and you know it's one I would never break.

And let me tell you, my child HATED what I put on him.

"THEY ARE JUST ANTLERS, MARLIN. GET OVER IT.
MOMMY HAS A GINORMOUS BOW ON HER HEAD, IT WILL BE OKAY."

And like any other mama, I gave in and said "FINE! TAKE IT OFF I DON'T CARE JUST SMILE PLEASE I WANT A NICE PICTURE!!!"

He's obviously still ticked at me for making him put those ridiculous things on his head, but these are the best I got.

And one more so you can see my mom's awesome Christmas stuff. As Shannon, one of the ninja turtle girls, said "IT LOOKS LIKE WHOVILLE IN HERE!

Even though Marlin would have no part in my reindeer attire.....my nephew the polar bear was more than happy to play...with a little bribery of course.

Meet Mako.

Mako is my appropriately named nephew and he is a polar bear in a ginormous dog's body (these pictures make him look so small!)

It wasnt' really a bribe, it was actually a gift from Santy Paws

and boy did he love it.

The happiest pup in the world.
If I had to sum up this pup with one picture, the above one would be it.

Happy New Year's from south Texas, ya'll.

Texas Monthly

Here it is!!!! I know, I know I'm a little late....it came out December 16 and you know I was at the store first thing in the morning looking for it and it's taken me this long to post about it?! Well, better late than never.

Anyways, here it is....January's issue of Texas Monthly with the article "Street Smarts" of Rockport, TX.
Listed were 8 businesses (and we were the 4th! whoo!) and we are just so flattered and blessed and grateful and OMG because the other ones listed are like Rockport Royalty, and have been around longer than we have and for us to have come this far so quick? WOW.
(You can also read the full article online at TexasMonthlyMagazine.com!)

Not to mention already getting that little shout-out on Texas Monthly's website in August....(about cupcakes and shark jerky!) This year has been AMAZING and I absolutely can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us!

Thanks for reading, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALSO You can purchase our burnout tees directly from our website. Just added it yesterday so I'm still working on adding more goodies =)

Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice...

Since I no longer require parental supervision while using the oven, I thought I'd share a lil bit of the holiday baking I've been doing...

Red Velvet Cupcakes in a Jar
 Sugar Cookies
Meringue Drops (this was actually the 3rd batch...i ate half of the first batch, then gave away most of the second batch...and ate the rest....)

 MORE sugar cookies
Chocolate covered cherries (there were also white chocolate cherries and bon bons...no pictures...they're on their way to Nashville with Jonathan now!)
 MORE meringue drops!
 and finally....
a not so pretty, but oh so yummy eggnog pie.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Early Christmas + Ninja Turtle Reunion = Best Weekend Ever!

Thursday night Jonathan came down and we immediately exchanged gifts the minute he walked in the door.

I think he was being kind of slow opening it, so I decided to help him out.
I know. Me? Bossy?! Neveeerrrr.

That sweetheart got me the prettiest red bracelet (You can see it on my arm in the above pics, and also in the pictures beeeelow!) and all these pictures were taken with my NEEWW pink camera he also got me. I always complain about how I never take enough pictures and how I'm the worst blogger ever....so boy went and got me a shiny new camera.
He is just so darn sweet. So then we spent the rest of the night watching Christmas movies, making a 2 am trip to Whataburger, and falling asleep on the couch. Super fun =)

See the pretty red sparklies on my arm?????????

Jonathan's Christmas tree in his truck...I even made him a little tree skirt for it.

Remember when I posted about Halloween, and how the ninja turtles won $200 in a costume contest?
Well we finally spent our winnings on Friday.
I told everyone it was definitely going to be a ninja turtle kind of night....and it definitely was.

And we all danced the night away...

Now that amazing high-five action shot is probably the most awesome picture from the night. That's my brother Brad, and his cougar friend Pam. This lady just randomly appears next to him and starts telling him how she can't find the front door. She was d r u n k deluxe. I couldn't hear half the conversation, all I know is it scared Jonathan enough for him to walk away from her and at one point she was basically laying on Brad.
I guess Brad gave her directions to the door finally, because I saw him point towards it and then this amazingness happened. I can't take credit for it though, Jonathan was our photographer for the night.

Then Saturday night after an amazing dinner--
Jonathan, Shannon and I chose to go out again while the others chose to sleep. Who needs sleep!?

While us blondes were gettin' our groove on, this lady decided she wanted to join us.

So I gave her a proper welcome....oh lordy.

Sunday us ladies went Christmas shopping and miss Kylee fell in love with the doggy in Old Navy.
Actually she fell in love with all of the mannequins at Old Navy.

But she loved doggy the most.

Dear Betsey...

Dear Betsey,
I'm sorry for neglecting you for so long.

I lost my way for awhile and forgot my dream, but now things have changed and I'm right back on track and Betsey girl---we got some work to do and this time I mean it.

And to prove I'm for real for real....I'm giving you my "Barbie" appliances and dishes. And boy do they look great on you, girl!

I can't believe I tried to sell you. I am so ashamed, what was I thinking!?
Well, thankfully no one bought you. It must be fate Betsey girl, we're meant to be together!

In the words of Madonna "I made up my mind. I'm gonna keep my baby. Oooh ooh I'm gonna keep my baby. Oohhh yeah." (Yes, I totally did just bust out some Madonna. You know I mean serious business!)
